The Terraced garden is a beautiful garden in Chandigarh that is known for its beautiful display of flowers and other plants. Spread over an area of 10 acres this garden is the most popular walking park in the city.

The Terraced garden is located in sector 33 in the middle of a residential area. It is a perfect blend of nature and freshness and is a treat to your eyes every time you visit. Accompanied by a lovely fountain with musical and light performances at night this garden is popular among locals as well as tourists.

The garden is also known to host many events, but mainly the Chrysanthemum show which is an annual flower festival organized in December. This flower show is the second most popular cultural event in the city after the annual Rose Festival.

All in all, covered in greenery with a wide variety of flowers, plants trees, this park feels like a paradise. A beautiful fountain in the middle of the park that performs musical shows in the evening adds to it’s already picture pretty view.

The garden is a proper walkers park and throughout the day you can find locals enjoying a walk and children playing. The jogging track is well made and designed to assist the walkers. With a bench at every 10 meters, this park is a perfect spot for picnics with friends & family and your kids will be very excited to visit the park again.

The Chrysanthemum Show

The Chrysanthemum show is an annual flower show organized in the Terraced garden in December. It is a gardener’s festival that showcases a wide variety of flowers ranging from 250-300 species. Some of the flowers that have been showcased over the years are snowball, autumn blaze, and hiatus.

The show is a feast for gardening lovers as it hosts various gardening competitions that judge participants based on different criteria. Local residents, government offices and private entities are all allowed to participate in the event. The main competitions include displaying homegrown flowers, and styling gardens, the winners are then crowned flowers kings and queens. This festival over the years has become one of the most attended flower festivals in the city after the Rose Festival. The audience is only increasing every year which is a very good sign for people taking interests in such nature-based activities.
